Nominees announced for 2014 Philadelphia Geek Awards

Here are the categories we're paying attention to.

The Philadelphia Geek Awards announced the nominations for its 2014 awards today.

Here are a few tech-relevant highlights:

Geek of the Year is a showdown between hobbyist hacker Leslie Birch, civic hacker and Code for Philly co-captain Chris Alfano and podcaster and anime convention organizer Jason Richardson.

Game of the Year nominees include Dumb and Fat Games/Greg Lobanov’s Coin Crypt, Shawn Pierre’s card game These French Fries are Terrible Hot Dogs and Ghost Crab Games’ Drive to Hell.

Startup of the Year nominees include women’s health-focused, socially–minded subscription service Cora, watch design firm Analog Watch Co. and STEM education nonprofit Coded By Kids.

Also: N3rd Street is nominated for Story of the Year.
