Pew invests $7.34M in Philly nonprofits, including Tech Impact, YouthBuild

Technology training nonprofits Tech Impact and YouthBuild Philadelphia are among the 45 Philadelphia nonprofits receiving $7.34 million in grants over the next three years from the Pew Charitable Trusts, according to a release.

The grants will fund job training, social service and mental health organizations.

• Tech Impact, based in Callowhill, will receive $154,000 to continue its tech training for young adults
• YouthBuild Philadelphia will receive $225,000 to continue to teach high school dropouts in fields like construction, health care and technology

Pew has decreased the amount of money it spends in Philadelphia, the Inquirer reported, since moving most of its operation from Philadelphia to Washington, D.C.
