The intersection of art and technology is the self-styled sweet spot of the multi-discplinary ExCITe Center at Drexel University. (They’re hosting a Music Hack Day this weekend)
So why wouldn’t the center welcome composer Andrew McPherson to try to improve upon the 230 year old piano? That’s what the Magnet Resonator Piano is, a piano controlled acoustically through light and magnet sensors.
Here is ExCITe project manager Kara Lindstrom showing off the piano inside the center during the NASA Space Apps Challenge last week.
