Independence Visitor Center launches new site

The Independence Visitor Center's new site is heavily focused on tourist interaction, acting as an online portal for the services the center offers in real life, and, no surprise, design firm Bluecadet has a focus here on mobile.

The Independence Visitor Center‘s new website is now open for business.

Built by local web dev firm Bluecadet, the site is heavily focused on tourist interaction, acting as an online portal for the services the center offers in real life. There’s a live chat feature (one that’s often seen on ecommerce websites, cleverly repurposed here) and Twitter feature that builds off a social media marketing campaign it launched this summer.

Visit the new site here.

It’s also worth noting that IVC and Bluecadet went a different route than the responsive design craze that is among the hot trends today (yes, one that this site, too, follows). When loading up PHLVisitorCenter.com in a smartphone or tablet, a mobile version loads up, with a simpler navigation and clearer calls to action, as is the growing custom for a on-the-go user base.

Also, don’t forget, IVC has its own smartphone app to boot, which the mobile version of its site calls out.
