Despite most planning growth in 2013, fewer than one in four surveyed regional businesses plan to hire employees, small business consultant Gene Marks reported, citing a survey of more than 100 small businesses in the area.

Dell conducted the survey as part of its recent Small Business Think Tank event, during which local business owners discussed their strategies to grow their businesses. Speakers included First Round Capital’s Josh Kopelman and small business columnist for New York Times Ami Kassar. Check out a Storify recap here and Dell’s video recap below.
