What’s the next big “thing” for ThingWorx, the startup focused on making inanimate objects communicate diagnostics?
City infrastructure.
The Exton-based business has teamed up with Smart Structures, a company that monitors infrastructure like bridges and buildings, to help Smart Structures make sense of its data. ThingWorx will analyze, review and create reports on the data collected by Smart Structures.
Its cloud-based information database will also provide real-time alerts on structural deficiencies, which is especially locally relevant given that Pennsylvania has got the most structurally deficient bridges in the country, according to a recent report from Newsworks.
Smart Structures is based in Southhampton, Pa. but so far has no clients in the Philly area, says ThingWorx Marketing Director Chris Kuntz through a spokeswoman.
