Entrepreneurs are always looking for people to test their products and service — market validation, as the lingo goes — so it makes sense that Philly Startup Leaders would launch PSL Labs to identify a reliable group of people to help startups through the process.

“The concept of PSL Labs is straightforward: connect startups with established organizations and companies as a means of getting this crucial early feedback,” said PSL president Bob Moul in an email posted to the listserv announcing the new program.

This is the latest in a series of improvements to the group — including the appointment of Gabe Weinberg and Josh Kopelman to the Board of Directors — since PSL revamped in late 2011.

Moul says PSL is launching the Labs program as an experiment so they’re looking for startups to volunteer as entrepreneurial guinea pigs. Moul acknowledged the irony that PSL was, in essence, beta testing a beta testers program.

“We have a theory and we want to test it quickly and either kill it quickly or evolve it quickly,” Moul said in the email.
