It’s Global Ignite Week and it seems all of Philly is getting involved. Three events on our events calendar this week are adopting the lightning talks-style including the original Ignite Philly, now in its seventh edition.
This week: Take a walk through Ignite history, the Perl Mongers will beat you in quizzo and Philly.rb collaborates.

IgnitePhilly – The event that led to the genesis of this very news site is back for its seventh edition as part of Global Ignite Week. The rapid-fire presentation event give presenters five minutes to share an idea with a packed house at Johnny Brendas in Fishtown. Procedes go to the South Philly Food Co-op. See our previous coverage of Ignite 3, 4, 5 and 6. Fishtown. Thursday. 6 p.m. INFO.
Philadelphia Perl Mongers – The Perl Mongers makes its event highlights debut with its lightning talks series on Monday. The group gives one person the floor to discuss a technical issue with Perl. And, according to the group’s website, you’ll be able to catch some quizzo afterwards. University City. Monday. 7 p.m. INFO.
Philly.rb – Continuing our theme, Philly.rb is teaming with the local Python User Group for a series of lightning talks at 401 N. Broad, one of the city’s only “carrier” buildings, capable of hosting a data center. Callowhill. Tuesday. 6:30 p.m. INFO.
