Our event calendar is a little thin this week, quite possibly because the community is gearing up for Entrepreneur Week and the Ignite/Mashable Party weekend that is sure to send the city into fits of nerdgasm.
This week, however, has the Young Professionals getting “unplugged” with everybody’s favorite mayor, and one half of the duo who invented Nutter Butter cookies.
While geography enthusiasts can get their map on, and Code Camp gets computer programmers of all stripes together in a free kinda-sorta-unconference.
All events listed on the event calendar are free to attend. Be sure to check our complete calendar for more information, or follow us past the jump.
Monday, April 13th: The Young Professionals Network and host Saint Joseph’s University present their second “Unplugged” event with Michael Nutter. Mayor Nutter will make like Nirvana and MTV to have what is being billed as a “a candid discussion” about the state of the city and its fiscal crisis. Registration is closed for the event, but we suspect that if you beg a YPN member you can sneak in. That, or you can bribe the bouncer. We’re sure he is young, but professional. 6:00 p.m. Wynnefield. RSVP (closed). [view more events]
Tuesday, April 14th:  The wiki mappers of OpenStreetMap have their first social gathering. Typically the group gets together only for mapping parties, but this is the first social event and a perfect time to introduce yourself if you haven’t been involved. 6:30 p.m. West Philadelphia. RSVP. [view more events]
Saturday, April 18th: Much like all of the Barcamps before (and one *ahem* after), Code Camp invites anybody and everybody interested in code to give a presentation. However, there are a few scheduled presenters slated to speak on topics such as .NET, SQL and Silverlight. And, if all of the no-frills talk about code isn’t enough to sway you, there will be raffles. 8 a.m. RSVP. [view more events]
Every Monday morning, Technically Philly will preview the best free tech events in Philadelphia and the surrounding region. See others here. Check our comprehensive events calendar here.
