Meet Homejoy
Homejoy is a San Francisco-based on-demand, private cleaning service. It operates something like what Uber has done for private cars — serving as a platform to connect customers and those who provide the work.
Backed by First Round Capital, Homejoy allows users to book a house cleaning online for $20/hour. It’s in 13 cities around the country and will have an operations manager on the ground in Philly. The startup partners with local independent cleaners, said spokeswoman Marlo Struve.
