Nava is growing steadily to reimagine how our government serves its people, and we’re looking for a Project Manager to help us execute on our mission of changing the digital services our government provides.

You’ll work with our government partners and across Nava’s engineering, design, and business teams to help move critical projects forward that improve the lives of millions of Americans. You’re able to work harmoniously with others and communicate empathetically across many groups of people in a clear, concise manner without the use of jargon or flowery language.

You think holistically and understand how the details of the project fit into the bigger picture, and take pride in working through highly ambiguous situations to deliver value to users. You have a strong bias towards action when faced with incomplete information, and communicate transparently to build consensus internally and externally.

What you’ll do

-Work directly at the intersection of government and the Nava team to manage our sprint process, estimate our efforts, triage incidents, manage expectations, and communicate progress
-Proactively build relationships with stakeholders within CMS (Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services) and with other contractors
-Understand the team’s objectives, systems, and capabilities in order to make decisions about project priorities and to help resolve issues
-Use tools like MixPanel, Splunk, and NewRelic to provide insights into metrics, investigate bug reports and production issues, and answer questions about our systems
-Manage the team’s velocity and continually improve our processes for organizing ourselves and our work

What we’re looking for

-Previous experience as a Project Manager or Product Manager in a complex technical environment, working with multiple stakeholders with differing viewpoints
-Previous experience working on web applications
-Ability to work efficiently with highly ambiguous and rapidly developing situations
-Service-driven, proactive, and positive approach to creating order from ambiguity
-Strong problem solving, analytical, and organizational skills
-Strategic foresight to determine impacts of decisions across multiple teams
-Excellent written and verbal communication skills — we value clarity and simplicity over jargon and unnecessarily complicated diagrams
-An adaptive, empathetic, collaborative and positive mindset
-Ability to proactively build relationships with a complex ecosystem of decision makers; become a trusted source of knowledge and clarity
-Ability to perceive client needs beyond what’s asked for, and reliably close the loop on those needs
-Ability to logically reverse engineer plans from objectives
-Ability to course correct and plan based on quickly developing situations
-Ability to negotiate, influence, build and strengthen relationships across teams
-Ability to understand and explain complex tradeoffs around user experience, project management, and technology
