#Delabear goes viral

A bear was spotted in Trolley Square, and you’d’ve thought it was a resurrected Tyrannosaurus Rex.

To be fair, though, this is not a scene you often see in Wilmington:

It caused enough of a stir that NBC Philadelphia set up a Delabear livestream, which … is a little much, but hey, who doesn’t need a distraction?

You might remember #Delabear 2016, when a black bear was spotted near the University of Delaware. That was when @thedelabear first took to Twitter for a day of parody livetweeting.

Around 1:30, amid rumors that Delabear was really two bears (per Nextdoor) and had escaped the WPD into the wilds of the Brandywine back country (or something), animal control failed at an attempt to tranquilize the animal:
