Wilmington-based The Fun Dept. has been committed to making office culture more fun for over a decade. Now they have a big-time partner in the San Francisco firm Delivering Happiness.

“Research continues to show that happy employees lead to bottom-line business improvement,” said Nick Gianoulis, founder of The Fun Dept. “This workplace evolution, being spurred by Millennials, who will comprise 75 percent of the workplace by 2025, means that companies that don’t embrace into it, simply will be history.”

Delivering Happiness, co-founded by Jenn Lim and Zappos.com CEO Tony Hsieh, is a culture “coach-sultancy” that works with organizations to create sustainable, more passionate and productive work cultures. The company was born out of Hsieh’s Zappos success in creating better workplaces by focusing on people and culture.

While Delivering Happiness works from the top down, developing strategies for a happier workforce, The Fun Dept. delivers fun — in the form of live and virtual team-building sessions and its popular Box of Fun, a bi-monthly subscription box filled with everything needed for a fun team activity.

“There’s no doubt that the most adaptive companies are the ones that’ll thrive,” said Lim. “Delivering Happiness helps our clients instill that foundation through culture, and The Fun Dept. provides a methodology to live it.”

The Fun Dept. is located at 1313 Innovation.
