Women, crushing it, to speak at Powerful Conversations Series

Great Dames offers two fall events to inspire professional women.

The two-part Powerful Conversations Series from Great Dames starts Monday, Oct. 9 at 5:30 p.m., with “Women Crushing Obstacles,” featuring four women who have overcome the obstacles to their success.
Moderated by Maria Hess, the panel will feature:

  • Carla Markell, former First Lady of Delaware
  • Guillermina Gonzalez, executive director, Delaware Arts Alliance
  • Susan Hum, costume designer, formerly with the David Letterman Show
  • Chandra Pitts, founder, One Village Alliance

The second event in the series, “Creating Parity for Women,” will be held Monday, Nov. 13 at 5:30 p.m.; it will feature Ellen Kullman, former CEO of DuPont and current co-chair of Paradigm for Parity.
Both events will be held at Harry’s Savoy Grill on Naamans Road in Wilmington. Tickets for each event individually are $50; tickets for both events are $69 for Circle members and $89 for non-members.
