The Mill and House Industries have an outstanding speaker slated for Theatre N in Wilmington on April 4. It’s Aaron Draplin of Draplin Design Co.
If you have a career in design, you’ve certainly seen Draplin’s work. You might even know him by name. But even if you don’t know him directly, it’s likely that you’ve heard of Field Notes. Draplin, who’s based in Portland, Ore., was a cofounder of Field Notes in 2007, and the company produced the now-iconic notebooks that many carry on a daily basis.
Draplin’s client list runs the gamut from Nike to Wired, Ford, the Obama administration and more. The group put together a book called Pretty Much Everything that they say “has typos, and so does life.”
The talk is on Tuesday, April 4, from 6-8:00 p.m. at Theatre N. Tickets are on sale now, and they’re going for $20.

We first caught wind of Draplin in a logo-making video back in 2014. Settle in and watch it, it’s fascinating.
