There’s no shortage of teen entrepreneurs in Delaware, and every year, the University of Delaware and Paul & Linda McConnell Youth Entrepreneurship Initiative hope to discover more through their annual Youth Entrepreneurship Summit (YES!).
This year’s competition kicks off on April 7 in Clayton Hall on the university’s campus.
YES! gathers entrepreneurial teens together to participate in workshops, engage in breakout sessions, network with peers and watch the last round of the Diamond Challenge (a real-world business concept competition host by UD’s Horn Program in Entrepreneurship).
YES! will have two keynote speakers this year.

  • Haile Thomas, 16 year-old founder and CEO of HAPPY Organization, an organization taking on diabetes and childhood obesity.
  • Justin Lazafan, 20-year-old founder of Students4Students College Advisory and Millennial Marketing Strategy.

If you’re interested in attending, there are a few price points to consider. If you register between now and Feb. 28, general admission is on sale for $15. That’ll go up to $20 after the early bird discount expires. UD students and faculty will get a 50 percent discount if they use the code “bluehen.”
