Hack for social good at this Open Data Challenge in Wilmington

The 4th Annual Idea Challenge asks participants to use open data to create solutions for social issues such as housing and healthcare.

Calling all data nuts, civic hackers, social service providers and everyone in-betweenOpen Data Delaware, Technology Forum of Delaware and the state’s Government Information Center are presenting the next iteration of the Open Data Challenge.
This particular challenge is part of Open Data Delaware’s 4th Annual Idea Challenge. The theme is “Access to Hope Through Innovation,” and teams will be asked to use open data to create solutions for intractable social problems such as access to housing, food and healthcare services.
Registration for the event is open, and interested parties can participate in one of two ways: As a team member actively working on an idea or as an audience member tasked with evaluating participants.

The challenge will take place on March 15 at Wilmington coworking space 1313 Innovation. The winning team will participate in Open Data Delaware’s National Day of Civic Hacking event in June. There, teams will compete to win cash for their projects.
