Barrel of Makers is hiring instructors

Share your knowledge, add a side hustle.

While entrepreneurial individuals have been known to take up multiple projects at once, the long-lived tradition of the side hustle is alive and well in the Delaware tech scene. Here’s a potential side hustle that could be your new favorite thing to do after work or on the weekends: Barrel of Makers is hiring instructors, and if you’re a maker, you might want to think about dropping your knowledge on some students for some extra cash. The focus is on science, technology, engineering, art and math, also known as STEAM.
The search is beginning immediately for classes in December and beyond. There are two classroom options to choose from: 1313 Innovation and Barrel of Makers’ headquarters at the Highlands Art Garage.
If you’ve never taught a class before, you’re still welcome to apply. There’s a support system in place to get you up and running for your first class. Think of it as an opportunity to break into teaching. But here’s a protip from an announcement instructor Taras Wallace made recently via Meetup: “If you’ve never taught a class before we are here to help you plan and perfect your creation. Take a look at our past classes for inspiration. They are also open for teaching as well.”
