The “Pokémon Go” hype in Wilmington has reached a new level. Later this month, there will be a bar crawl calling all fans of the augmented reality game to gather in Trolley Square. The event planner is Ernie Potts, he’s just a gamer that wants to bring everyone together.
Potts described the game as a way of breaking down social barriers for his gamer friends who have “social anxiety.” It’s given them all a common ice-breaker and conversation-starter, he says. Potts sees it as a way of promoting “fellowship” (a very gamer word to use).
If you’re interested in attending this July 30 meetup, you can get tickets for $10 here.
