Now’s your chance to master WordPress with Girl Develop It

Girl Develop It is hosting a two-part series on how to use WordPress this week.
You might remember one of the teachers, Greg Davis. He recently started his own WordPress meetup in hopes of galvanizing a local WP community.
He’s teaching the first class on Feb. 23, which will be an intro to the open-source content management system and will cover what exactly WordPress is, the difference between WordPress.com and WordPress.org, and how to install and secure your own WordPress site.

Organizers note you don’t need to already have a WordPress site to attend, and that if you do, skip this class and attend the second one, which is Feb. 25.

That class, taught by Delaware Today assistant editor Danielle Bouchat-Friedman, will cover how to use your WordPress site as an administrator, the basics of creating posts and pages and how to customize your site with information on settings things like comments, users, widgets, menus, plugins and themes.
Both classes are from 6-8 p.m. at 1313 Innovation, and they each cost $25.
