Come ‘code for good’ with JPMorgan Chase in Wilmington next month

Calling all student technologists considering a career in fintech: JPMorgan Chase is inviting you to come work with their developers to develop solutions for a handful of leading nonprofit organizations in dire need of some fancy new tech.

Hosted by the company’s Technology for Social Good team, the Code for Good hackathon will be held in three locations across the U.S. this year — and on Oct. 30, Wilmington will be one of them.
The hackathon will pit teams of four to six students against each other as they vie to develop bleeding-edge solutions unique to the social mission of the nonprofit they’ve been assigned to.
Not only will there be prizes for winning teams and teams that make it to preliminary rounds, but the hackathon is an opportunity for students to get on JPMorgan Chase’s radar. The company is advertising the hackathon as a chance for students to receive mentorship from company technologists — all which “can lead to technology internships or full-time positions” in the bank’s Technology Analyst Development program.
But more importantly, students will be striving to help nonprofits fight the good fight. The deadline to apply for the hackathon is Oct. 5., though early registration is encouraged.
