As we’ve previously reported, having adequate internet access and adopting emerging technologies are both just as important and necessary to rural farmers as they are to urban startups.
Delmarva Now took a brief look into how technology is impacting the agriculture industry there — specifically, drones being developed by researchers at the University of Delaware and University of Maryland Eastern Shore.
The takeaway: These new technologies, whether they be land survey via drone or automated irrigation systems, are breaking down existing stereotypes that label farmers as uneducated and agriculture as primitive.
