Wilmington City Council now posts meeting minutes online

Ask and you shall receive.
During a recent Wilmington Council meeting public comment session, which happens 30 minutes prior to the start of each meeting, a resident requested that Council’s minutes from meetings be posted online.
City Council President Theo Gregory agreed, said Council Communications Director John Rago. Gregory directed staff to publish minutes online.
Previously, citizens had to request a physical copy of the minutes by calling or visiting City Council’s offices at 800 N. French St.
To access the minutes, visit WilmingtonDE.gov. Click on the “Your Government” tab and click on “Council Agendas, Summaries and Minutes” for a PDF of the approved minutes.
Staff, Rago said, is working to complete the Jan. 15 meeting minutes and will have those posted as soon as possible. Council, he added, typically meets on the first and third Thursdays of each month. Once the minutes are transcribed and made available for review at the next council meeting, council members vote on whether or not to approve the minutes. If approved, staff will post the minutes as soon as possible following the meeting.
Rago said the city’s webmaster is also working on adding the minutes from 2013 and 2014.
“Essentially, we are adding the minutes beginning with the 106th Session of City Council which began when Theo Gregory became President in January of 2013 and will continue in session until the 107th Session begins in January of 2017,” Rago said.
