On Friday, Jan. 20 Donald Trump became President of the United States, and since then the protests have been nearly constant.

There was that small but somewhat violent protest on K Street on Friday, the giant Women’s March on the Mall on Saturday, protests against Trump’s move to advance the Keystone XL pipeline and Dakota Access pipeline on Tuesday and that Greenpeace “RESIST” banner near the White House on Wednesday. Many, it seems, are looking to make their displeasure heard.

In this atmosphere, why not make it your mission to improve the way the U.S. government interacts with its citizens through government services? This is precisely what U Street-based Nava, the company that fixed HealthCare.gov, does. And if you want to do it, too, here’s some good news — the firm is hiring. Drive government services design as a software engineer, product manager or DevOps engineer.

According to Lyft General Manager Stephen Taylor, the ridesharing company is growing fast in the D.C. area. This means more rides, and a bigger team. Here in D.C. the company is hiring a legislative council for its government relations team. Interested in being “directly involved in shaping the legal and regulatory framework for the evolving ridesharing industry in a manner that advances Lyft’s long-term business interests”? Then this gig is for you.

In keeping with the pink theme, downtown-D.C. based events software company Social Tables is hiring too — join as the director of engineering. CEO Dan Berger said on a recent panel that the applicants that stand out most to him are the ones who have clearly put in the most effort, so keep that in mind as you put together an application. It probably doesn’t hurt if you love the color pink, too.

Fresh off a $15 million Series B, “drone as a service” company Measure is looking to expand its team. Among the various VP-level jobs available is a role for a VP of Media — someone who would be in charge of selling Measure’s services in the news gathering market.

Still looking for a career option where you can do good? 1776-based Goodworld makes it easier for charities to raise money by enabling simple, streamline social media-based philanthropy. Seriously — #donate is pretty cool.  Join as a full-stack developer — the company accepts D.C.-based and remote candidates.
