Kristian Bouw, founder and CEO of NotionTheory, knows a thing or two about the medium. Get some VR learnings Nov. 30 at Social Tables HQ.

D.C.’s virtual reality scene is hot — just ask the 1,200 member-strong DCVR Meetup group, or read one of the articles we’ve published recently on what its like to work in VR in D.C. or what’s coming.
Still unsure? Let NotionTheory (yep, the company with the VR arcade) CEO Kristian Bouw convince you. The event, titled “Virtual Reality: The Final Medium,” will take place at Social Tables HQ downtown on the evening of Nov. 30.

“The history of virtual reality runs deep and in every attempt until recently, it was always an idea ahead of its time,” event organizers write. But now? Well, “now with the backing of tech giants including Google, Facebook, Microsoft and Samsung, virtual reality is on pace to generate a $150 billion market by 2020.”
In his talk, Bouw will go over the history of VR as well as how brands are using the medium today and what, from his perspective at NotionTheory, the future holds. Of course there will also be demos, so you can play around with “the final medium” yourself.
