Hardware pitch competition comes to DC

Here at Technical.ly we end up talking a lot about software. But here’s an opportunity for all you hardware hackers — the AlphaLab Gear National Hardware Cup is coming to D.C. later this month.
The event is open to any early-stage startups with at least one physical product, and there is a $50,000 convertible-debt investment from Startbot VC on the line for the competition’s champion. There will also be $1,000 and various other prizes for the D.C. winner.
D.C.’s pitch event will be held at TechShop DCA in Arlington, on Jan. 27. The judges include Bill Besselman, VP of connected fitness strategy at Under Armour (which has been busy in that realm), Greg Toth, founder of the IoT Dev Lab, and more.
