Local football fans won’t believe who Waveborn’s new spokesman is

The D.C.-based company donates one pair of prescription glasses for every pair of luxury sunglasses sold. It's apparently not up on local football beef.

Adams Morgan-based eyeglass company Waveborn has enlisted Pro Football Hall of Famer and former Dallas Cowboy quarterback Troy Aikman, as its new brand ambassador. The Cowboys?! C’mon.
Waveborn, which donates one pair of prescription glasses for each pair of luxury sunglasses it sells, will be partnering with Aikman for the next four years.
In exchange for sporting the company’s sunglasses and appearing in its promotional material, Aikman will receive vesting equity.
“I am really excited to team up with Waveborn and support their global mission,” Aikman said in a press release Wednesday. “I absolutely love their handcrafted Italian frames and polarized Carl Zeiss lenses.”
