Kickstarter is donating $75,000 to the International Refugee Assistance Project, the company announced yesterday. The move comes in response to an executive order by President Donald Trump banning travel from seven majority-Muslim countries.

“Kickstarter stands for a more equitable and inclusive world, and so we stand with those harmed by this order,” the company wrote in a post Thursday. “Earlier this week, we donated $75,000 to the International Refugee Assistance Project (IRAP) — one of the lead organizations fighting to protect those seeking safety here in the United States. Right now IRAP is on the ground and in courts standing up for the world’s most at-risk refugees.”

The move comes after the Greenpoint-based crowdfunding site’s cofounder and CEO Yancey Strickler was one of 17 Brooklyn tech leaders to sign a petition in protest of Trump’s travel ban.

According to its site, IRAP “organizes law students and lawyers to develop and enforce a set of legal and human rights for refugees and displaced persons.”
