Brooklyn tech newcomers 1776 are hitting the ground running, today announcing a spring fellowship program at the Brooklyn Navy Yard–based startup incubator.
The D.C.-born 1776 is looking for tech startups with two or more employees, which are post-minimum viable product and revenue. It’s specifically looking for companies in the following sectors: Education, Security, FinTech, Healthcare, Food & Agriculture, Smart Cities, Transportation, Energy.
1776 expanded into Brooklyn last summer, and has been building out its space and operations since then.

Fellows will receive free office space for their team through August, in addition to 1776’s network of startups, investors and mentors (one of which is the author of this post, as of last week). (Full disclosure: Technical.ly DC’s Tajha Chappellet-Lanier is also a 1776 mentor. The position is unpaid.) The incubator takes no equity from fellows.
