Cognition brought home the bits at Playcrafting’s 2016 Bit Awards Saturday.
The game, developed by Luna Five at the NYU Game Center incubator is a puzzle game for iOS built on strategy and nimble fingers, where you control two perpetually rotating cogs named Click and Cogsworth.
“Reflecting back, Cognition has really been on quite the adventure, starting from Pluto finding his place in the galaxy and through many iterations ended up being about to Cogs traveling through and inventors memory,” designer Wen Shi said in an email. “What a curious journey game development is.”

And a journey it has been indeed. Back in the spring we included Cognition as one of 7 games coming out of the NYU Game Center to watch.
“After viewing all of the talented nominees for each category, it seemed more unlikely that we would be standing on stage receiving the award for any of our relevant categories, so we were equally astonished when Cognition was announced for the mobile award,” Lang wrote.
