Bono’s daughter has a Williamsburg startup

Speakable, an impact-minded media venture (we think), just raised $2 million.

Correction: According to a representative from Speakable, Hewson is no longer with Global Citizen. Additionally, she's 27 years old, not 25, as was previously reported. (7/5/16, 9:59 a.m.)

There’s not much on Speakable yet, which, according to an SEC filing, just closed a $2 million round May 12. The website has no text, for one thing.
Clues about the startup from from builtinnyc.com, which has the blurb:

We enable news readers to action what they read via polls, petitions, emails and donations. We connect them to the best NGOs empowering them to participate in stories that inspire them, to change tomorrow’s headlines.

The director and executive officer of Speakable is named Jordan Hewson, which is also the name of U2 frontman Bono’s 27-year-old daughter. Hewson was formerly the online editor of the anti-poverty news organization Global Citizen. Speakable is headquartered at the Williamsburg WeWork, and according to a recent report, Hewson lives in Williamsburg. Last November, in a story about her sister, Eve, we got this description of Jordan from the Telegraph:

Eve lives in the hipster hotbed of Williamsburg, around the corner from sister Jordan, who is involved with a tech start-up firm.

So at the risk of journalistic editorializing, that’s definitely Bono’s daughter.
