This map breaks down income in Brooklyn

Dumbo and Park Slope are doing very well but once you go in from the water, things look not so good.

Income unevenness in Brooklyn is on full display in this new map from Observatory. (Screenshot)

If you live in Dumbo or Park Slope you probably already know that your neighborhoods are ballin’ outta control. But you might not know how much that contrasts with large parts of the rest of Brooklyn.
In a new map by CartoDB user Observatory, you can zoom in and out, hovering over the various census tracts of Brooklyn to see per capita income and also median household income.
The riverfront census tract of Brooklyn Heights has the highest per capita income at $115,568. Dumbo has the highest median household income, $193.942. Head inland however, and income is lower. One census tract in Brownsville has per capita income of just $7,663 and a median household income of $10,674.
The map does technically feature every census tract in the country, and though we’ve never been 100 percent sure that life exists outside of New York, you could, theoretically check out anywhere with this map. Not bad.
