The NYU Tandon School of Engineering announced it’s now accepting applications for an intensive summer program for the best and brightest New York City high schoolers.
“This selective program is for academically strong, current 10th and 11th grade New York City students with a demonstrated interest in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM),” the Tandon school said in a statement.
The program is called ARISE (Applied Research Innovations in Science and Engineering) and it will include college-level seminars, research in NYU Tandon laboratories and placements in selective projects with faculty members.
At the end of the summer, there will be a presentation colloquium for students to present their work to NYU faculty and graduate students, as well as their peers in the ARISE program.
Students of color and girls are particularly encouraged to apply, as part of the program’s goal is to increase opportunities for underrepresented communities. The application is open to students in 10th and 11th grade in high schools located within the five boroughs.
