Etsy likes business, but they want people to do it in a different way.
Starting in the beginning of October and running through the end of January, the company will hold weekly sessions and meetings in a program it’s calling, “The Regenerative Entrepreneur NYC Program Pilot.” The program will be free for those who are accepted.
“The Regenerative Entrepreneur Program is designed to be participatory and emergent business education,” the company’s announcement reads. “In this educational program, we are weaving together human development practices like daily reflection, exploration and insights into social, economic and natural systems-thinking, and last but not least, brass tacks business skills.”
Sessions include, “Knowing and Honoring People and Place,” “Empathy and Adaptive Leadership” and “The 8 Hour MBA: Core Business Skill Clinic.”
Etsy says it will accept between 15 and 20 founders for the 15-hour-a-week program. The company says it’s looking for a diverse inaugural group.
The deadline to apply is Aug. 24. This Wednesday night, Aug. 5, there’s an information session about the program at Berg’n, in Crown Heights.
