Who’s getting money?

VHX amended its recent funding round, up from $4.25 million to $5.8 million, according to the SEC. The round was originally posted on Re/code as led by Comcast Ventures. That story reported that the company had expected to reach $5 million in the round, at the time.

Who’s making moves?

We reported on delivery companies a while back. Palo Alto’s DoorDash is also here, and recently completed a $35 million funding round. Here’s a PDF map of parts of Brooklyn where the company delivers. According to a spokesperson for DoorDash, their delivery crew actually comes to your door. Lately, this reporter has been getting calls from delivery guys who want him to come out to the street. What makes DoorDash’s model different is that it manages its own network of deliverers, rather than simply ferrying orders to restaurants that handle it themselves.
At the 4 Years From Now track of the World Mobile Congress in Barcelona, Toymail won both the “Disrupted by Mobile” and “Audience Favorite” awards, for its app and connected toy, that lets parents and friends exchange voice messages with children.
Park Slope’s Wadjet Eye Games has a new game coming, Technobabylon. It’s about a distant future and a huge city where people live in video games and AI runs the place. Check out one of the playable characters: Max Lao, city cop:

Who’s getting buzz?

Navy Yard spacesuit maker Final Frontier Design got a story in New York Magazine. We first covered the team in June.
