Who’s getting money?

We covered the Cord Project’s $1.7 million equity round back in July, but there’s more details on Xconomy, which says the round was “co-led by Metamorphic Ventures and Lerer Ventures, with Google Ventures, Greycroft Partners, Slow Ventures, and others participating.” Apparently the project is some sort of audio messaging app, with larger ambitions to use voice to control devices. There’s no shortage of voice-based messaging apps, but if you need one, get Cord on iOS now (Android coming soon). TheCord Project is run by ex-Googlers and based in Williamsburg.

Good Eggs raised a $21 million Series B, according to The Silicon Valley Business Journal. While Good Eggs isn’t based here, it has a large Brooklyn presence. It was the company’s second market. We covered the responsive redesign of its site in March.

Who’s making moves?

I Heart Robotics is no more. The robotics company closed its doors “a few months ago,” according to Sameer Brenn, its CEO. We didn’t get more detail than that. The website is still up but if you click through enough you get bounced over to some sort of handbag site. We covered its acceptance of Bitcoin as payment for turtlebots last year.

Downtown’s NYU Game Center has announced its No Quarter Exhibition for the weekend of Sept. 19-21. Four games will be debuted, by Kevin Cancienne, Jane Friedhoff, Naomi Clark and Shawn Allen. The games can be played for free all weekend. There’s a party opening night. Details here.
