If elected representatives themselves don’t show us the right path, who will?
As it turns out, D.C.’s Councilmembers have the right to violate parking laws when they’re on official business. But that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t be shaming them for it.
So last year, the Washington City Paper started Councilgram, an Instagram account that posts pictures of our badly parked lawmakers.
Council members are taking it in stride, which is easy to do when you’re more or less exempt from receiving parking tickets in D.C.
So the City Paper is calling out for more submissions. If you see something, snap a picture and tag @Councilgram on it, or email lips@washingtoncitypaper.com.
