NewsUp launches trivia feature, smart phone app to be released by year’s end

The unveiling, in which BeerGivr took part and which coincided with Alonso's regularly scheduled trivia night, was a Baltimore Innovation Week event.

NewsUp revealed yet another reason to slog through Thomas Friedman columns when it took the training wheels off its trivia feature last night at Alonso’s in Roland Park.
Users of the news-reading app, which assigns points to people based on the number of news articles they read and share with friends, can now earn more points by answering multiple choice questions based on current news events. For example: what percentage of Americans did Mitt Romney say enjoy living off the government dole?
Those points are then redeemed for prizes, like concert tickets or coupons to restaurants.
