Wow, what a great week!
Hats off to the Technical.ly team and all the amazing organizations involved in BIW17 – what an awesome celebration of innovation, entrepreneurship and the power of an ecosystem!
The Mid-Atlantic Venture Association (MAVA) was thrilled to support BIW17. MAVA’s roots are long and deep in Baltimore. We enjoyed meeting so many cool, young and innovative new companies at the Business Conference and throughout the week’s many great events. We’d like to express an extra round of thanks to our longtime partners at ETC Baltimore for having made the tickets to all BIW17 events complimentary –what a tremendous expression of support for the week and for the purpose of Innovation Week.
In the afterglow of BIW17, MAVA challenges each member of the entrepreneurial ecosystem to do all that they can to continue supporting and celebrating the spirit of innovation in Baltimore, and beyond. This purpose is central to MAVA’s mission as an entrepreneurial advocate and industry leader. For 30 years, we’ve been providing a platform to connect companies and capital throughout the life cycle of each emerging company. To this end, one of our most popular, flagship programs is TechBUZZ. This early and seed stage pitch event has launched more than 330 early and seed stage companies from up and down the East Coast over the past six years. Collectively, these companies have raised more than $700M in funding and the investments continue.
Baltimore has been the birthplace of many terrific TechBUZZ alumni: Avhana Health, Citelighter, Fixt, Fusiform Medical, Parking Panda, Point3 Security, SameGrain, Quantified Care, RedOwl, SameGrain, SickWeather, Sisu Global Health, Snag-A-Slip, ZeroFOX and many more.
Last week, during BIW17, we announced our awesome lineup for our October event.
In the spirit of community, MAVA invites you to register to attend our fall edition of TechBUZZ, which will be hosted on October 19 in Washington, D.C. (1:00 – 7:30pm).
As a thank you to Technical.ly and to everyone who participated in BIW17, MAVA is excited to offer a special TECHBUZZ registration discount to all Technical.ly readers who register by October 15. Use the code TBBIW17 to get $5 off any registration rate.

So, what is TechBUZZ?

If you haven’t attended in the past, the TechBUZZ event is an action-packed, half-day event which brings together 300+ entrepreneurs, investors, key customers and business partners who support emerging technology companies. The program is designed to launch the companies that present on stage, to celebrate those entrepreneurs who have successfully grown their companies, and to share the knowledge of our active, experienced investor community with all of the future entrepreneurs and founders. We keep the pace quick with four minute pitches, followed by interactive investor panels, and top-caliber networking with the members of MAVA community who build and support the TechBUZZ Program throughout the year.
TechBUZZ is hosted three times a year to meet the needs of rapidly-evolving, emerging technology companies. The application process is free for all companies to complete and those selected will participate at no cost in the full gamut of coaching, marketing and support that our program includes. If you’re building the next great thing – keep TechBUZZ in mind! And if you want to come be a part of this top business event focused on entrepreneurs across industries and active investors, register today to be with us. The window is now open to apply to present in Spring 2018,mand the best way to prepare is to come see the show “live.”
