Lightning talks will be plentiful at DevFest this week.
The Nov. 11 event at Goucher College has six hours of activity, both in the form of talks and hands-on code labs. Google offers guidelines for the events, but they’re community organized. So each takes on its own feel.

The Baltimore edition is organized by the local Google Developers Group chapter. The session menu includes a pair of OrderUp devs, and a hands-on session introducing devs to Firebase. Games are also on the agenda. They’re bringing in ETC-based startup Brinkbit to talk about its game development platform.
With Obamacare opening up another round of enrollment on Nov. 1, the keynote is timely. Venkat Koshanam is set to talk about the Maryland Health Exchange, which is the state-run platform where Maryland residents can buy insurance apart from their employers.
