A statewide celebration of STEM is set to kick off on Friday in Baltimore, and it’s a two-parter.
The opening ceremony of the Maryland STEM Festival is the first of 450 events planned across the state. It all begins at the Maryland Science Center at 10 a.m. Among the speakers onboard is Paul Fipp, Under Armour’s CTO.
At 1 p.m., the scene shifts toward the water at the National Aquarium. That’s where the national podcast This Week in Science is set to do a live show, starting at 2 p.m. The podcast also has a preview episode for the festival.

Along the way, there will be demos and exhibits of what’s happening in Maryland’s STEM community.
And it’s just the first event of the festival, which runs Nov. 4-13.
