Here’s one option for makers looking to get involved in Station North’s giant new makerspace.
Open Works put out a call seeking teachers for adult classes at the Greenmout Avenue facility, which is set to open in the fall. There’s a host of fields available, including “textiles, 3D printing, electronics, digital fabrication, digital media, design software, coding, [and] small business development,” according to a flier. There’s even some pay involved, to the tune of $25/hour.

Wood and metal instructors are also sought, and they get an extra bonus. Open Works is partnering with nearby Station North Tool Library to provide resources for wood and metal training in its shop. Open Works provides the Tool Library team with access to CNC Plasma Cutting, MIG and TIG Welding and wood-turning that they don’t currently have. In turn, instructors who sign up at Open Works can teach at both locations.
