Awards season is in full gear, even in the tech community.
The Crunchies were held on Monday, Feb. 8, at the San Francisco War Memorial Opera House, with comedian Chelsea Peretti hosting. Among the honorees were some startups you’ve probably heard about called Slack, Facebook, Uber and SpaceX.
But Baltimore was also represented on the West Coast. Yet Analytics cofounders Shelly Blake-Plock and Margaret Roth were among 16 startups demoing for attendees of the event.
The “Highlights of Startup Alley” showcase was a follow-up to the duo’s appearance at TechCrunch Disrupt last year. The big-data analytics startup, which makes a platform to make training data interoperable, won the Data Visionary Award from Nielsen at that event.
Between the TechCrunch appearances, Yet closed a $1.3 million seed round, moved into a new office in the Emerging Technology Centers’ 33rd Street campus and offered advice at Startup Soiree.
