Baltimore needs good stories too.

Steve Case, on his recent Rise of the Rest visit that happened during Baltimore Innovation Week 2015, noted the growing entrepreneurial dynamic present across the city and region. He also said “there is a really unique opportunity for Baltimore to not just be the Charm City but also to be the comeback city.”
To be sure, a key part of making Baltimore the comeback city is not just its risk-taking startup founders and their teams, but also how stories are told about the companies, nonprofits, institutions and organizations that call this place home. Those stories are shaped and supported by an often un-sung network of home-grown community of public relations, communications, marketing and design professionals.
In the tech community, we make a home for digital marketing lessons, but there’s room for more. There may be more suits than hoodies with this group, but they are Baltimore’s storytellers.
In an effort to celebrate the work over the past year of the Baltimore region’s PR and marketing pros, the Maryland chapter fo the Public Relations Society of America is holding its annual Best In Maryland Awards Gala, tomorrow, Tuesday, Dec. 1, at Hilton Baltimore.
