Who’s getting funded?

Kinglet, the online marketplace for small-scale office space, settled down with $500,000 in debt funding, according to a Securities and Exchange Commission filing.
Otterbein’s Catalyst IT Services snagged just over $105,000 in equity, according to an SEC filing.
Pegged Software, also of Otterbein, installed nearly $9.3 million of a $9.4 million equity offering. Pegged’s programs aim to help human resources managers find the right fit for their teams. COO and President Myra Norton spoke at a recent Data Science Maryland meetup.
PathSensors was on the receiving end of a $500,000 investment from private investor Michael Song. Song, president of Shanghai Qi Fa Electronics Co. Ltd., will partner with the company to expand its Chinese market penetration in surface and airborne bacteria, virus and toxin detection systems, according to a press release.

Who’s making moves?

OrderUp Towson

A recent Facebook ad hinted that OrderUp could be taking its talents north to Towson. The Canton food delivery platform’s Baltimore reach currently includes Fells Point, Mount Vernon, Federal Hill and Canton, but not Charm City’s suburbs. An OrderUp spokeswoman played coy, with Renee Beck saying in email it’s “definitely a sign” that OrderUp would be adding restaurants in the college town to the north, but didn’t say when service would launch there.
Kristi Halford joined the Economic Alliance of Greater Baltimore as its new director of marketing, The Daily Record reports.

Bonus take

On BuzzFeed, OrderUp posted its most hilarious and unusual order instructions. Some users whose missives are featured are clearly under the influence of various substances (“I’ll probably be outside smoking a cigarette, as high as Jesus on a spaceship”), while some are clearly smitten.

Send Jake. I will not accept the pizza if my delivery person is anyone but Jake. I will wait as long as it takes. Thank you. Also, please include a sexy headshot of Jake. Thank you, again.
