CrowdStitch, the pop-up event-based social network, went live Monday, company officials announced in an email.
The app, which first entered beta in 2012, is already signed up with several events, including Maryland Nonprofits’ annual conference and the holiday lighting of the Washington Monument, according to the email.
CrowdStitch works via geolocation and allows people at events to share short messages, kind of like a Twitter feed. Founder Mark Howells referred to the result as a “Twitter hashtag on steroids.”
