A few runs here, a few hits there, Buck Showalter could have been managing in his first World Series.
But instead, the Baltimore Orioles skipper is eyeing plans for the coming months and next season. One of those plans? Speaking at the annual meeting of the Economic Alliance of Greater Baltimore.
The theme for this year's meeting is leadership, teamwork and nurturing a culture of winning in Greater Baltimore.
Showalter is the keynote speaker at the Dec. 17 meeting at the Hilton Baltimore. The meeting will also include networking and comments from EAGB board members.
The theme for this year’s meeting is leadership, teamwork and nurturing a culture of winning in Greater Baltimore, according to a release. That’s something Showalter knows well, having managed the Orioles to three straight winning seasons and two postseason appearances, including a trip to the American League Championship Series, where his Birds were swept by the Kansas City Royals.
“This season we reminded the country of how great Baltimore is, not just as a baseball town, but as a community and a region in general,” Showalter said after the loss in game 4.
Early bird tickets are $125 until Nov. 17 ($150 from then on) and are available on the alliance’s website.
