Howard County’s Conscious Venture Lab accelerator will hold its first demo day on Wednesday, county officials announced.
The demo day marks the culmination of a 24-week program for the lab’s first cohort of seven companies. It will be held Wednesday from 2-6 p.m. at 8161 Maple Lawn Blvd., in Fulton.
The accelerator, a project of the Howard County Economic Development Authoritytargets social enterprise startups. The first cohort includes six for-profit firms and one nonprofit, including Spend ConsciouslyJust Good and Self Spark.
“We’re really excited about this first cohort and can’t wait for the public to see the kinds of businesses the Conscious Venture Lab is capable of delivering to the marketplace, said Jeff Cherry, CEO of the Porter Group, the private investment firm that funds the program.
