5 Baltimore Innovation Week events you should pencil in right now

Baltimore Innovation Week will again celebrate technology and innovation in Baltimore, Sept. 12-20. Here are few highlights we recommend clearing your schedule for.

The third annual Baltimore Innovation Week will again celebrate technology and innovation in Baltimore, Sept. 12-20. It’s part of an effort to grow the awareness and connectivity of the region’s technology ecosystem.
New this year, Baltimore Innovation Week will be divided into six broad tracks: Access, Business, Civic, Creative, Dev and Media. Events in these tracks run each day around the city and region, in addition to specific daylong sets of programming in these tracks.
Here are few track day highlights we recommend clearing your schedule for:

  • Sharpen your skills or learn new ones at Dev DaySign up for a half-day workshop led by local leaders and technologists who know their stuff. Choose from workshops on Intro to Node, Database Theory and SQL, JavaScript and Rails Stack Prime. Saturday, Sept. 13.
  • All are welcome at Women In/Tech and the Diversity Happy HourThe second annual Women In/Tech summit is focused on bringing more women into tech. Tracks will be focused on founding and starting, leading and scaling and will feature two hands-on workshops led by Girl Develop It. Stick around afterwards for a free Diversity Happy Hour. Monday, Sept. 15.
  • Bootcamp, investments, #Failfest and buzz-worthy networkingBusiness Day is a full-day business idea exchange at the Emerging Technology Centers. Talk IP, trademarking, litigation and more at Entrepreneur Boot Camp, hear from out-of-market investors, learn from local leaders on their biggest business failures. Students can use code “biwstudent” to get in for free. Tuesday, Sept. 16.
  • Need a brand strategy update? Attend the Future of Digital Marketing. We’ll be talking iBeacons, integrated customer experience, digital strategy, gamification and more. You’ll hear from heavy hitters at organizations like r2i, Mindgrub, OrderUp, Loyola University, NewsUp and more. Thursday, Sept. 18.
  • Demos, games, drinks and networking and the Innovation Celebration.
    This cocktail reception meets interactive local technology expo is a celebration of the broad Baltimore tech community with all of Baltimore Innovation Week’s attendees, sponsors and organizers.
