Who’s getting funded?

TEDCO’s Maryland Innovation Initiative has awarded $6.4 million in grants this year to universities and commercialization projects, as Technical.ly Baltimore reported.

Who’s making moves?

Civic hacker Shea Frederick has accepted a job with Tide Point-based Under Armour as the company’s lead software engineer in ecommerce, Frederick said on his Facebook profile. Frederick, most recently of AOL’s Advertising.com, is also known for creating apps like SpotAgent and BaltimoreVacants.org.

Federal Hill startup Parking Panda signed a deal to become an official parking partner of the Baltimore Ravens, as Technical.ly Baltimore reported. A widget from the parking service now appears with other parking and transit information on the Ravens’ website. It is Parking Panda’s second NFL partnership.

Network Business Solutions, based downtown, merged with Light Industries of Millersville to form Summit Business Technologies. The combined firm will be based in Millersville, the Baltimore Business Journal reports.

The Chesapeake Innovation Center in Odenton added ReXi Wireless as a Collaboration Hub member, officials announced this week. The startup, founded earlier this year, developed a cloud-based WiFi gateway that offers low-cost management and scalability.
